How far can you get from Dwight on The Office? Rainn Wilson went from a geeky guy at Dunder Mifflin to a odd looking alien plotting to take over the earth in the animated feature Monsters and Aliens.

And it’s all part of Wilson’s plot to avoid getting typecast as the paper salesman who can’t hide his upwardly mobile longings in the Emmy Award-winning series.

Q: Now that you’ve done a few movies, did you try and get some extra star perks on Monsters and Aliens?

A: I came in and I was like, ‘I want the biggest trailer you got.’ They set me up with an enormous trailer. It was stocked from top to bottom, it had DirectTV and a Jacuzzi.
