The perpetually dashing, virtually ageless, and always perfectly tanned George Hamilton has become a legend for lighting up screens big and small in his more than forty year Hollywood career. It’s hard to believe that he’s just passed the big 7-0.
Now, Hamilton is looking back as My One and Only, loosely based on the life of his own family, led by his unsinkable mom–played by Renee Zellweger–hits the screen. Hamilton told Parade.com’s Jeanne Wolf what it was like to be awash in memories.

“I had such mixed feelings about doing a movie about my mother and my family. Then, I watched it with an audience and I couldn’t talk afterwards. When it ended I just sat there and it took me a good 10 minutes to pull it together. I’ve never had that happen….”
